A Hertfordshire man who continued abusing a boy after being questioned by police has been jailed for five years.
Martin Aldridge, 36, was asked by a friend to talk to the 13-year-old boy, who had told his mother he was gay.
Aldridge, of Bedford Road, Hitchin, sexually assaulted the boy over a six month period seven years ago, and even carried on when police were alerted.
Aldridge admitted eight counts of indecent assault and two of a serious sexual offence at Luton Crown Court.
The boy, who would not make a statement when police were alerted by the boy's mother in February 2001, did make a statement in December 2006.
The court was told an aggravating feature of the crime was the fact Aldridge carried on his conduct after being questioned by police.
