Man charged over town stabbing

Police have charged a man with stabbing a 21-year-old in Bedford.

Keith Guthrie, 34, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an attack in Carlisle Road in Queens Park on Monday evening.

Mr Guthrie, of Carlisle Road, will appear before Bedford Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

The 21-year-old victim is in a critical but stable condition at Bedford South Wing hospital, said Bedfordshire Police.
