Second man is stabbed in two days

A 21-year-old man has been stabbed in Bedford, two days after a teenager died from a single stab wound to the chest.

The victim is in a critical condition after the attack on Carlisle Road, Queen's Park area, on Monday evening.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and they are being questioned at Greyfriars police station.

Detectives are not linking the attack to the fatal stabbing of Boris Reavey, 19, on Saturday night.

Det Ch Insp Dave Quarmby said: "In order to reassure the communities of Bedford there will be extra police patrols in the areas of the town centre and Queen's Park for the next few days, and borough council park and urban rangers will also increase their presence on the streets in the area."
