Man's body recovered from canal

An investigation has started after a man's body was found in the Grand Union Canal in Buckinghamshire.

The body was spotted by a member of the public in the canal near Water Eaton Road, Bletchley, on Monday morning.

Thames Valley Police appealed for help in identifying the man. They said he was white and believed to be aged in his 40s.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out to determine what caused the death, which is being treated as unexplained.

Det Ch Insp Ray Summers said officers were keen to speak to anyone who was in the area either late on Sunday or on Monday morning.

He said the man was wearing blue jeans, white trainers, a black jumper and a blue or black jacket.
