Boy, 8, dies in hanging accident

An eight-year-old boy has died after hanging himself at his home in what police said was a "tragic accident".

Officers and paramedics were called to Fletcher Way in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, on Saturday afternoon.

The boy was taken to Watford General Hospital where he died a short time later, police said.

A police spokesman said: "Whilst a full investigation into the circumstances is being carried out, it appears that this was a tragic accident."
