County's cash funds air ambulance

It will cost more than £80,000 to run the air ambulance.

A county so desperate for an air ambulance it raised £250,000 to fund it will see their hard work pay off.

Hertfordshire is one of the few counties in the UK with no air ambulance so Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance Trust began fundraising.

Now 18 months later there is enough money for the ambulance, a doctor, and paramedic for a trial one year period.

Trust representative Rob Forsyth said: "The launch will be a day to remember. I'd just like to say thank you."

The new Hertfordshire air ambulance will be launched on 5 November. It will cost more than £80,000 a month to run the aircraft.
