Man robbed at knifepoint in town

A man has been robbed at knifepoint on a footpath in Luton town centre.

The man was walking along the Moorpath footpath in the town on Tuesday afternoon when another man pushed him into a wire fence.

The attacker grabbed his victim's clothes and demanded money. When the victim said he had none the robber drew a knife and threatened him again.

A member of the public disturbed the attacker as he tried to steal a mobile phone and he ran off.

He headed in the direction of Biscot Road.

The attacker is described as a black man, aged around 25, 5ft 10in and of broad build.

He had large hands and wore a black anorak with hood that was tightly pulled around his face with a drawstring, black tracksuit trousers and dirty looking white trainers.
