Hit-and-run crash biker is named

A 51-year-old motorcyclist who died in a hit-and-run crash in Hertfordshire has been named by police.

Dennis Crook, from Stevenage, was riding a Harley Davidson bike on the A10 between Hoddeson and Hertford on Sunday, when he was hit by a car.

The father-of-three died in hospital after the crash which occurred at about 1515 BST, police said.

Police have been attempting to trace the car, white and about the size of a Ford Fiesta, which failed to stop.

In a statement released by Hertfordshire Police, Mr Crook's fiancée, Loraine Nugent, said: "He was a fun and really loving man who would do anything for anyone - a big softy.

"He loved his bikes, and his family and children meant everything to him. He was a family man and those around him always came first."
