Man dies after crane road crash

A man has died from his injuries following a crash between a crane and two lorries that led to the closure of a section of road in Hertfordshire.

The collision occurred on the A1(M) near Stevenage at about 0330 BST, a Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said.

One of the drivers, from Lincolnshire, was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries, police said. The other two drivers were uninjured.

The northbound carriageway cordoned off after the accident is now open.

Hertfordshire Police have renewed their appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
