Open verdict on hanged teenager

A coroner has recorded an open verdict in the case of a schoolboy who was found hanged after telling his parents he was being bullied at school.

Anthony Cole, 15, of Milton Keynes, who had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), was found hanged by his own shirt in March.

Anthony's parents Colin and Tina said he had told them he had been bullied and he was unhappy at school.

But his head teacher Susan Bell said he was a bright boy.

Ms Bell, of Gatehouse School in Milton Keynes, said Anthony could have gone to university.

Coroner Rodney Corner, sitting at Milton Keynes, said he was not convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Anthony had intended to take his own life.

Mr Corner recorded an open verdict in the case.
