A commemorative stone is to be unveiled in memory of a police officer who was fatally stabbed while on duty in Luton.

Pc Jon Henry, 36, a married father of one, died after responding to reports of an attack on a window cleaner on 11 June last year.

The stone will be unveiled at Luton Police station during a private gathering on Wednesday which marks one year since Mr Henry's death.

A minute's silence will also be observed by the officer's colleagues.

Ch Con Gillian Parker said: "The senseless death of Pc Jon Henry one year ago was an event that deeply shocked and saddened us all.

"Although the event at Luton is for his closest colleagues only, the day will be an occasion for us all to remember Jon in our own way."

Ikechukwu Tennyson Obih, 27, of Winsdon Road, Luton, was charged with murdering Mr Henry.
