Sewage leak may have killed fish

A sewage leak is believed to have caused the death of 900 fish in a stream in Bedfordshire.

The Environment Agency was called to Pix Brook at Stotfold near Letchworth last Friday.

Initial investigations show the fish were killed by pollution thought to have come from the Letchworth sewage treatment works run by Anglian Water.

The company said it plans to restock the river with fish. The Environment Agency investigation continues.
