Masked robbers stab man and dog
A man and a dog were stabbed by a gang of armed men who forced their way into their home in an early morning raid.

The flat-owner was stabbed in the leg, and his Staffordshire bull terrier was stabbed in the body during the incident in Drayton Road, Luton.

The gang stole money, jewellery and a mobile phone during Monday's raid.

The 37-year-old victim has been given stitches for the knife wound to his leg, while the dog is being treated by a veterinary surgeon.

Det Con Viki Wright said: "The main door to the flats has a security system attached to it which requires a resident to open the doors.

"Someone may have let in these men by mistake or they may have followed a person, possibly a resident, into the flats."

Police have made an appeal for witnesses to come forward with information.
