Family tribute to murder victims
Traute Maxfield and Sandra Weddell
Traute Maxfield and Sandra Weddell both died
Two brothers have paid tribute to their mother and sister - who are both believed to have died at the hands of police inspector Garry Weddell.

The body of Traute Maxfield, 70, was found in Gustard Wood, Hertfordshire, on Saturday, and Mr Weddell's body was found in nearby Markyate.

He was on bail for the murder of his wife Sandra, Mrs Maxfield's daughter.

Tom Khan, 47, a police officer and Paul Carne, 48, an IT specialist, expressed the grief of the family.

The brothers, who both live in Bedfordshire, said in a joint statement: "Words alone cannot describe our sense of loss following their deaths.

"Mum was a loving, caring and kind person who had a genuine zest for life and an infectious sense of humour.

"Sandra shared many of Mum's qualities. She was a devoted mother, cared for other people and worked as a nurse at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital where she lectured in renal dialysis.

"Like Mum, she was talented at needlework, loved the church and even found time to help out at the local Sunday school.

"They have left a huge void in our lives, and in the lives of the many other people who knew them."
