School could be science academy
Plans have been announced to convert a Buckinghamshire secondary school into an academy.

The scheme, put forward by the county council, for Quarrendon School would also see the Aylesbury school move to a site near a new housing development.

The move would allow the school to expand and have a state-of-the-art building, the county council said.

If the plans are agreed, the school would open with a Science and Technology specialism in Autumn 2009.

The school's move from Weedon lane to a new building on the town's Berryfields development would then take place in September 2011, the council said.
