Man denies doorstep murder charge

A 27-year-old man has appeared in court to plead not guilty to the murder of a Bedford man at Easter.

Ben Lamb is charged with murdering Patrick O'Rourke, 44, who was found with serious head injuries on the doorstep of his home on 7 April.

Mr O'Rourke, known as Tommy, died two days later in Bedford Hospital.

After entering his plea, Mr Lamb, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody at Luton Crown Court to re-appear for trial on 12 May 2008.
