Garry Weddell
Garry Weddell was released on conditional bail
A Metropolitan Police inspector has appeared in court to deny murdering his wife at their Bedfordshire home.

Garry Weddell, 47, is accused of murdering his wife Sandra, 44, who was found in the garage of their home in Dunstable, on 31 January this year.

Post-mortem tests showed a cable tie was used to strangle her.

Mr Weddell, who appeared at Luton Crown Court, was released on conditional bail including a £200,000 surety. Trial could take place in May 2008.

Judge John Bevan QC said the trial would be expected to last three to four weeks.
