A major fire has gutted a warehouse in Buckinghamshire and 30 local residents were moved from their homes.

More than 70 firefighters tackled the blaze at RR Donnelly in Gatehouse Road in Aylesbury on Saturday afternoon.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue said 12 appliances and specialist crews were called in to stop flames spreading.

Spokesman Frazer Pearson said at its peak, the smoke plume could be seen 15 miles away. A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze will begin once the site has been made safe.

Firefighters were hampered when the blaze first broke out because propane gas cylinders were believed to be inside the warehouse.

They fought the flames from outside the building because of concerns the cylinders could explode.
