One of Britain's leading Buddhist monks has died in a freak accident cutting lawns at his temple in Milton Keynes.

Reverend Gyosei Handa was killed while using a ride-on lawnmower. Rev Handa was the chief monk at Nippon zan Miohoji Buddhist temple in Willen.

He had devoted his life to working to promote peace all over the world. His funeral will take place on Sunday.
