Passenger killed as car hits pole
A 42-year-old woman died when a car she was travelling in left the road and hit a telegraph pole in Bedfordshire.

The victim, from Birmingham, was a rear seat passenger in a Nissan Primera which ended up in a ditch by the A428.

A man, 33, from Lancs, who was driving the car, lost control after becoming distracted on Sunday, said police.

He was treated for injuries at South Wing hospital, Bedford, along with two other women aged 28 and 65 who were also passengers in the Primera.
