The Conservatives have held onto control of Mid Bedfordshire District Council with a comprehensive victory.

The party has 38 Conservative representatives on the council and took one more seat from the three other representative groups.

Liberal Democrats now have 11 members after losing one seat while there are three independent candidates after one of their number was defeated.

The Green Party gained one seat taking their number of representatives to two.
