The Conservatives have increased their majority on Chiltern District Council in Buckinghamshire after taking three seats from the Liberal Democrats.

Conservatives retained this stronghold which they took from no overall control in the 1999 poll.

They contested all of the council's 40 seats which were up for grabs and now hold 30 of them with the Liberal Democrats reduced to nine.

One ward was retained by the council's sole independent member.
