The Conservative party has held on to East Hertfordshire District Council after gaining three seats.

Conservatives gained two seats retaining their stronghold with all of the council's 50 seats up for grabs in the poll.

One seat was gained from the Liberal Democrats and two others from independent parties.

Labour did not have a candidate standing for a seat in the district council's 2007 elections.
