Pedestrian in collision shuts M25
The M25 was shut in Hertfordshire on Wednesday after a 79-year-old man was hit by a lorry on the west bound carriageway near Junction 22.

A police spokeswoman said the man had been on foot and was believed to be a motorist who had left his car.

The man was taken to Barnet Hospital where his condition is "critical".

The motorway was closed while police investigated the collision, which happened between junctions 23 and 22 in the early afternoon.
