Mashed potato causes road smash
A road has been closed after a load of mashed potato fell off the back of a lorry and caused vehicles to crash.

Police were forced to closed the A507 at Husborne Crawley, at the School Lane and Bedford Road junction, in Bedfordshire, in the morning rush hour.

The potato made the surface slippery and firefighters used power jets to clear the mash from the road.

It is thought the lorry driver was unaware his load had fallen off and carried on driving.
