Man remanded over death of wife
A 59-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering his wife.

Derek Smith, was charged with the murder of his wife Carolyn, 40, and remanded in custody at Stevenage Magistrates' Court.

Police found the woman's body after being called to a house in Stanmore Road, Stevenage on Thursday.

There was no application for bail and Mr Smith was committed to Luton Crown Court for a further hearing on 30 April.
