Man charged with murdering woman
A 60-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found in a house in Hertfordshire.

The body of a 40-year-old woman was found at the property in Stanmore Road, Stevenage, on Thursday.

On Friday night, a Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said Derek Smith, of Stanmore Road, Stevenage, had been charged with murdering the woman.

Mr Smith is due to appear before Stevenage magistrates on Saturday, the spokeswoman added.
