Motorcyclists warned over thefts
Motorcyclists in Buckinghamshire have been warned to secure their bikes after a spate of thefts.

Thames Valley Police issued the warning after 11 Suzuki motorcycles were stolen in the Milton Keynes area over the past two months.

A police spokesman said thieves had overridden immobiliser systems to steal the bikes for parts.

Police appealed for anyone with information relating to the motorbike thefts to contact them.

John Horsley, Thames Valley Police crime reduction supervisor, said: "It is suggested that the engines in some Suzuki bikes, including the GS XR model, are being stripped down and used on other motorbikes. It is thought that the parts have a high second-hand value.

"These thieves obviously know what they are looking for, but if your bike is kept locked and parked in a secure location, it will deter them from stealing it."
