Officer charged over wife's death
A Metropolitan Police inspector has been charged with murdering his wife found strangled at their home.

Gary Weddell, 45, of Lancot Avenue, Dunstable, Beds, is due to appear before Luton magistrates on Thursday.

Bedfordshire Police said Mr Weddell is charged with murdering his wife Sandra who was found in the garage of the family home on 31 January.

Post-mortem tests revealed a cable tie was used to strangle the 44-year-old mother-of-three.
