Street lighting resistant to dogs
Dog fouling
New stainless steel lampposts are being installed
A council is to replace 15,000 street lamps with a stainless steel version designed to cut light pollution and stand up to the ravages of dog fouling.

The lampposts in Milton Keynes are 40% more energy efficient and last 20 years longer than standard lights.

Kevin Whiteside, from Milton Keynes Council, said: "We are aiming to reduce lighting costs and these new street lights will be more efficient.

"Stainless steel construction means they withstand what dogs do to them."
