A Muslim grave vandalised at St Mary's cemetery in Bletchley
Gravestones have been vandalised in a section of a Buckinghamshire cemetery set aside for Muslims.

Forensic experts were called in and CCTV tapes were examined when 11 headstones were damaged at St Mary's cemetery, Church Green Road, Bletchley.

Four men were seen leaving the cemetery and driving off, police said.

Milton Keynes Police describe the incident as "despicable" and have urged the Muslim community to remain calm.

Investigations are continuing and house-to-house inquiries are being made, police said.

Ch Insp Andy Standen said: "This is a despicable crime which has violated the grief of the families of the deceased whose graves have been attacked.

"The offenders targeted not just adult Muslim graves, but those of children too.

"We informed the local Muslim community of this disgraceful act and would urge the community to remain calm while we carry out a thorough investigation."
