Health trust announces job cuts
A health trust has announced jobs cuts in a bid to reduce a budget deficit of nearly £12m.

Bedford Hospital NHS Trust said it had reduced costs in a number of areas, including not filling vacancies, but further action was now needed.

It said £5m would be saved by the loss of the equivalent of 121 full time jobs and changing the way it runs services.

A Unison spokesperson said: "It is the most wilful act of destruction Bedford has ever seen."
