Two new sites are being examined by police investigating the death of a man in what they describe as an "horrific, savage and almost ritualistic killing".
Bedfordshire Police launched a murder inquiry after a post mortem examination of the body, found in a car park in Luton, on Saturday.
Forensic teams are examining wasteland in Houghton Regis close to the M1 and also a flat in Bury Park Road, Luton.
On Wednesday, police said the sites may or may not be linked to the murder.
Det Sup Keith Garwood, leading the investigation, said these locations could be relevant or coincidental, but both are being thoroughly examined for clues.
Gold bracelet
The victim had been stabbed and beaten to death and sustained severe injuries to his entire body.
Det Sup Garwood said: "People who called the incident room have enabled us to move this inquiry forward and we are now examining two potential scenes of interest.
"We do not yet know if they are significant to the enquiry, but if anyone else can shed light on whether they are relevant, I would like to hear from them.
"Indeed, anyone with information about this man's identity, what he did, where he is from, and where he was killed are urged to contact the police."
The victim was described as of West Indian or African ethnicity, 6ft tall, aged in his 20s and well built.
He was found wearing a black shirt and jeans under which he also wore tracksuit trousers. He was wearing nothing on his feet.
He was also wearing a gold bracelet on his wrist and a distinctive, chunky-style, square shaped silver ring on his right ring finger, with a black oval onyx-type stone in the middle of it.
It also had a diamond effect pattern on its face and horizontal lines scored into the side of it, which detectives hope someone might recognise and help identify the wearer.
