One of the UK's largest free festivals of world music is under way in Hitchin.
More than 25,000 people of all ages and backgrounds are expected to converge on Hitchin, Herts, over the weekend.
The festival, now in its 14th year, involves about 700 performers. Eight stages have been set up to host acts from across the world.
World food and craft stalls, beer tents, poetry readings and a family area have been set up to create a carnival atmosphere.
The aim of the festival is to bring together people of different age, race and lifestyle, who have a common interest in music.
Activities and acts will be broadcast live on BBC Three Counties Radio.
