More patrols combat holiday crime
A mini crime wave coinciding with the school summer holidays has prompted Thames Valley Police to increase patrols in parts of Aylesbury.

Complaints include slashed car tyres, skip and bin fires and intimidating groups of youths hanging around shops.

There will be extra patrols, both uniformed and plain-clothed, in Quarrendon and Meadowcroft as police respond with a zero-tolerance approach.

Officers will be working closely with local schools after the holidays.

A police spokesman said special constables, community support officers, mounted police and officers with dogs would also be making more patrols and carrying out regular stop checks.
