Major delays for train travellers
Train passengers were facing widespread disruption on Thursday after a train hit overhead cables in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Some WAGN services from Cambridge and Peterborough to King's Cross have been cancelled, and services between Stevenage and Finsbury Park disrupted.

Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays are expected.

There are buses between Stevenage and Potters Bar, but are also being delayed by the partial closure of the A1M.

One West Anglia, Thameslink and London Underground are accepting Wagn ticket holders.

GNER services have also been affected.

Trains were being diverited through Hertford North but a WAGN spokeswoman said services should be back to normal on Friday.
