The trial of a man charged with shooting a badger-spotter after mistaking his night vision goggles for a fox's eyes has been stopped.
Anthony Burns, 52, of Prestwood, Bucks, had been accused of shooting Trevor Lawson while he was out hunting for foxes in countryside.
The jurors at Aylesbury Crown Court were discharged on Monday afternoon for legal reasons.
Mr Burns denies one count of causing grievous bodily harm in April 2003.
A new trial is due to take place at Aylesbury Crown Court.
