Work begins on the new deep sea port London Gateway

Work has started on London Gateway, the new deep sea port in Essex on the Thames Estuary.

Dredgers have begun creating a huge channel which will allow the biggest ships in the world to reach London.

It will be the first deep water port for Europe in 25 years but environmentalists are concerned for marine life.

Tom Edwards reports.
