Free health checks in Great Yarmouth and Waveney

Patients across Great Yarmouth and Waveney are being urged to take up the offer of a free health check.

Letters are being sent to people aged from 40 to 74 inviting them to book an appointment with their GP for a check.

The doctor will assess a person's risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.

Each check, organised by NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney, will include an action plan including advice on ways to improve health and wellbeing.

Nazim Khan, project manager of the Health Check scheme for NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney, said: "It's a great opportunity and only takes about 25 minutes."
