David Calvert, who was mistakenly identified as Jon Venables, has appealed to the Justice Secretary to properly identify the killer of James Bulger.

Mr Calvert was wrongly named on websites as being Venables, due to his appearance, his age and that he was from Liverpool.

Venables was recently returned to prison under his new identity following serious criminal allegations against him. He was jailed in 1992 for the murder of Merseyside toddler James Bulger. He was released on licence in 2001.
