Icy conditions delay flood help

Icy road conditions have forced a charity to delay sending hay from Warwickshire to farmland damaged by floods in Cumbria.

In November thousands of homes and businesses were severely damaged in devastating floods in the county.

The ARC-Addington Fund said hay was due to go to a farm where nearly 300 acres of grazing had been lost.

The charity said it is hoped the operation could take place on Monday after it was postponed at the weekend.

Fund director Ian Bell said: "There is a 14-acre field on this particular farm and the debris is 4ft deep."
