Detectives have been granted extra time to question a 28-year-old man arrested over the murder of a taxi driver in the West Midlands.

Father-of-three Mohammed Arshad, 36, was found with stab wounds to his head in Wast Hills Lane, Kings Norton, near Birmingham in July.

Officers said the arrested man was being questioned at a police station in north Worcestershire.

West Mercia Police said they had until Tuesday afternoon to question him.

The man was arrested during Saturday night.

Mr Arshad had been a self-employed taxi driver for A Cars.

His taxi was found abandoned on the Hawkesley estate in Kings Norton, about a mile from where Mr Arshad was found. He was taken to hospital but died the next day.
