Police name death crash motorist

Police have released the name of a Teesside woman killed in a crash in County Durham.

Sarah Jane Roberts was driving a VW Golf on the A177, south of Coxhoe, when it was involved in a collision with a van on Friday morning.

The 30-year-old from Thornaby was pronounced dead at the scene. The van driver was treated for minor injuries.

Any witnesses to the incident, at about 1000 GMT, who have not yet come forward have been asked to contact police.
