New leads follow cabbie TV appeal

Murder victim Mohammed Arshad
Mr Ashad was stabbed in the head

Detectives have said they are following new leads into the murder of a taxi driver after an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme.

New CCTV footage was shown of a man seen travelling on a bus in Birmigham the night Mohammed Arshad, 36, was found with stab wounds.

The taxi driver was found dead in Wast Hills Lane, Kings Norton, on 22 July.

Police said they "urgently" wanted to trace the man seen on the number 35 bus in the area that night.

By the end of Thursday night's programme, detectives said they had received calls from members of the public giving four possible names for the man in the CCTV images.

Another appeal was made for information in the case on the programme in September.

A £10,000 reward has been offered to find the killer.
