Body of woman recovered from sea

The body of a woman has been pulled from the water about four miles off the coast of Felixstowe in Suffolk.

The body was spotted early in the morning by a crew member on board an anchored ship.

The Harwich inshore lifeboat recovered the body and police are trying to identify the woman and establish how she came to be in the water.

Police said it was believed the body had been in the sea for just a few hours before being found.

A post-mortem examination will be held to establish the cause of death, which is being treated as unexplained.
