Serial car crasher jailed

Serial car crasher Mohammed Patel has been jailed for four years after he admitted staging more than 90 fake collisions over three years in a vast insurance scam.

Patel would brake suddenly on roundabouts causing innocent drivers to crash into him from behind.

The fraud only came to light when staff from an office block overlooking one of the roundabouts noticed a lot of similar "accidents" taking place outside, involving the same man driving each time.

Investigators used sophisticated "facial mapping" techniques to bring Patel to justice.

Judith Moritz reports.
