University honour for Floyd star

Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour went to art college in Cambridge

Anglia Ruskin University is to present honorary degrees to a rock star, a comedian and a retired army general.

A member of the rock band Pink Floyd, Dave Gilmour, will receive an honorary Doctors of Arts.

Comedian Lee Evans will also receive a Doctor of Arts and recently retired General Sir Richard Dannatt will be presented with a Doctor of Technology.

The ceremonies will take place in November at Anglia Ruskin's Chelmsford and Cambridge campuses.
