Teenagers charged with burglaries

An 18-year-old man and a teenage boy have been charged with multiple burglary offences following a police investigation across eight counties.

Thomas Gilheaney, originally from Cambridgeshire, has been charged with 13 house burglaries and two attempted burglaries, Suffolk Police said.

A 17-year-old from Loughborough, Leicestershire, was charged with 10 burglaries and two burglary attempts.

Both are charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in five counties.

Mr Gilheaney allegedly committed the offences in Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Norfolk, Staffordshire and Leicestershire between October 2008 and February 2009.

The youth is charged with offences between January and February this year.

Suffolk Police, which led the investigation, said both are due to appear before magistrates in Bury St Edmunds on 1 September.
