Man killed in accident at factory

An investigation is under way after a man died at factory in County Durham.

The incident happened at car parts manufacturer ThyssenKrup Tallent Ltd in Newton Aycliffe on Wednesday afternoon.

The 52-year-old victim, whose name has not yet been released, is believed to have died as a result of an accident involving machinery at the site.

Officials from the Heath and Safety Executive (HSE) were at the factory on Thursday, during the joint investigation with Durham Police.
