Rocket men of the Isle of Wight

Highdown, on the Isle of Wight, was an important site for rocket development and space research in the early 1970s.

There were hopes the site would become Europe's equivalent of the US space agency Nasa but funding was later withdrawn.

In this report, first broadcast by BBC South in 2000, Mike Bushell talks to John Scragg and Ray Wheeler who worked on the Black Knight Rocket Project. The report includes archive film from the 1970s.
